My name is Aakarsh Madhavan and I study Computer Science (coop) at the University of Waterloo. I'm currently a Sophomore (class of 2021).
In my free time I like to hang out with friends and going on drives. Some of my hobbies including yoyo-ing and exploring new technologies (especially server side).
I am on my 2A study term at Waterloo. Excited to begin an internship come September.
ShareNotes is a web platform allowing students to share PDF notes according to university and courses. Students can simply use the web interface to upload or browse notes, download notes and share notes. The motivation of this project came from myself looking for some course notes online and finding nothing. Hopefully this platform is the solution. Everything runs on availability via Heroku combined with AWS EC2 (and S3 for storage)
Current: Implementing the server, working on front end slowly.
Quizzer is an Android and Web app aiming to make teaching a large class easier. Teachers use the web portal to create classes and sessions and students use Android devices to answer live questions. All this happens in real time! Questions are later archived into a database, which an instructor can look into later on. During the live session, teachers are able to view a real time bar chart of what students are answering. Student performance is also recorded for every class (absences, points, answers)
Focal is an Android app aiming to help users improve their concentration levels by providing monittoring. Users connect a Muse headband via Bluetooth and the user's brain activity keeps getting recorded and stored into a database. Overtime, the user can view activity spikes and dull moments and evaluate their enviroment and relation to concentration.
